On patrol in Iraq

M. Scott Mahaskey, a photographer with the Army Times newspaper, has been traveling with U.S. troops in Iraq who are trying to protect innocents and stave off attacks from insurgents. These are some of the moments he's captured.

Recently, the Mi-2 helicopters, which are owned by the Ministry of Agriculture in Baghdad, have been approved to fly missions for pesticide- spraying over date palm groves in central Iraq. The pilots and support crews are Iraqi nationals and represent the first use of Iraqi airspace by Iraqis since the outbreak of war.
